Gospel:
John 20:1-2, 11-18

Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene, whom St. Thomas Aquinas called the "Apostle to the Apostles" because she was the first to proclaim the Resurrection to the Apostles.

Reflect on today's Gospel reading, about Mary's encounter with the Risen Jesus and listen for Him calling your name, just as He called hers.

Prayer:
"Saint Mary Magdalene, faithful disciple of the Risen Lord, obtain for me the grace to love Jesus with all my heart, to remain faithful to Him through every trial, and to proclaim His Resurrection by the witness of my life." -Amen.

A beautiful thought to carry through the day is Jesus' single word to her at the tomb: "Mary." Sometimes the deepest prayer is simply listening for Christ to call us by name and responding, as she did, "Rabboni!" (Teacher).

"Jesus, We Trust in You!"
