Memorial of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, Virgin and Doctor of the Church

• The "Little Way": She developed a highly influential spiritual philosophy known as the "Little Way". Instead of seeking heroic or grand deeds, she focused on achieving holiness by performing small, ordinary daily tasks and hidden sacrifices with immense love and total surrender to God.

She suffered from tuberculosis and died at the young age of 24. Her final words were, "My God... I love you!"

*Writings and Church Honors:

• The Story of a Soul: Published after her death is one of the most widely read Catholic spiritual classics in history.

• Doctor of the Church: Pope John Paul II declared her a Doctor of the Church on October 19, 1997. She remains the youngest person ever to receive this title.
